There is something about wood that is so homey and warm it makes for wonderful decor, especially during the holidays. And let's be honest, aside from the smell of christmas trees, there aren't many scents more wonderful than fresh sawdust. But you don't have to be a wood-smith wonder to make most of these christmas wood crafts. There are plenty of ideas here you don't even have to break out the table saw or sanding paper to make.

The author does like to work from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

If you are just starting in the art of woodworking, or even if you are experienced; this is a great guide. Book 1 offers everything that a beginner will need to know, and what tools they will need to get started. Book 2 offers a variety of woodworking plans and projects. I love these books because I've always loved working with wood, metal, clay, etc. I grew up loving to work out of doors. I always was ready and eager to help my dad with outside chores and projects. I loved wood and metal shops in high school. So, this book is awesome for me and people like me. But, it is also a perfect beginners guide for the new woodworker.

This is the book I have been looking for. I have been into woodworking for the past 5 years and have built 2 stand up paddleboards, two cedar strip canoes, and a strip built Adirondack Guide Boat. This book really talks about WHY and gives you great ideas to take your woodworking to the next level. I realized I need to spend a bit more time sharpening my hand tools to really improve my enjoyment and results. Nicely written and covers what I wanted to read. Lots of nice photos as well.
