The Google Gemini app is an AI assistant that can help supercharge your creativity and productivity.

This official app is free. Gemini gives you direct access to Google’s best family of AI models on your phone so you can:

- Get help with writing, brainstorming, learning, and more
- Summarize and find quick info from Gmail or Google Drive
- Generate images on the fly
- Use text, voice, photos and your camera to get help in new ways
- Say “Hey Google” to ask Gemini for help with what’s on your phone screen
- Make plans with Google Maps and Google Flights

If you have access to Gemini Advanced it will be right here in the Gemini app.

If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet — including controlling media and routines. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.

Ratings and reviews

Still has a ways to go before it catches up with Perplexity and ChatGPT. I ask it to create calendar events with info from my screen or from copied text, and it keeps misunderstanding and asking for the same information over again, I ask it to change the title of an event and completely misunderstands; I end up with an event titled "It", no idea where it keeps getting that from. Before this it kept telling me it can't create events until I cleared the cache. I'm just pretty disappointed so far.

Amazing app! Create's very accurate images and fun to chat with. But one problem is a few hours ago I used the app and now every time I say something it says too many requests sent. I then went off to do some stuff for a few more hours and then eventually came back to the app but it still says too many requests sent. I then deleted the app and reinstall but it still does the same thing.

Worst part is the fact that I can't use it with Spotify. It was cool whe I first started using it, but the main thing I depended on with the Google Assistant is being able to start, stop, skip, and like songs on Spotify. Moving to Gemini caused me to lose all that integration. I know they are slowly starting to add it and when it does, maybe I'll fully switch. For now, I'll stick with the Google Assistant. It can easily do Navigation, Web Query's, and has Spotify Integration.
