About this app

The application "Sounds of Anllóns" was made by students of the IES Eduardo Pondal de Ponteceso.
In a first stage, the 1st ESO students collected bird songs with the help of the BirNet application. These songs were stored in a database that began to work in the following course.
Already in 2nd ESO we continue with the work editing the files and looking for Public Domain images for our application but already from the IES Science Club.
The last phase of the project consisted of assembling the application using Appinventor.

The municipality of Ponteceso is located on the Costa da Morte, specifically at the mouth of the Anllóns river. This ecosystem has a great variety of birds, both resident and migratory. Among the first, the little buntings stand out, colorful birds but due to their small size they are easier to hear than to see. As birds of passage or wintering, we highlight the gannets or teals, small ducks that reside in the estuary between the months of October and February. All this avian wealth is not easy to recognize, most of the birds escape humans so they are difficult to see up close without good binoculars or a telescope. Birds, however, are usually easier to hear. Especially in the early hours of the day and during the sunset, the song of the birds stands out in the landscape of our region, so our application can be of great help to try to get closer to their knowledge.
What is known is taken care of, so we hope that our application may be of interest to protect our environment.
