The "Equal Treatment App" has two main content areas, an information area (finding information) and an interactive area (recording an incident). The homepage points to these areas and gives an insight into the intention of this app on the basis of the pictorial representation of typical discrimination situations.
The information area provides information about the services of the Equal Treatment Office (GAW) including the corresponding data on the accessibility of the respective offices of the GAW. The address is additionally supported by a map. A direct link to the website is created.
The information on legal matters contains the legal basis for equal treatment and non-discrimination in Austria including a direct link to the Equal Treatment Act. Typical discrimination situations are explained in examples. The GAW newsletter can be requested directly.
The interactive area allows you to enter, save and send situations that are perceived as discriminatory or observed. The situation can be described in their own words, as well as information can be made by whom you feel discriminated against.
In addition, functions relating to calendar and time are offered, photos can be inserted. Six grounds of discrimination can be clicked. Each individual record of the situations (incident) can be corrected and stored. The records can be protected by a pin code. Individually selected or all records may be sent anonymously or with advice to the offices of the Equal Treatment Office, as well as to self-elected persons. When sending the records with advice, personal data is required in order to be contacted by the GAW.
