Euclid of Alexandria (~ 325 BC - 265 BC) was a Greek mathematician who taught and died in Alexandria, Egypt, around during the reign of Ptolemy I (323 BC - 283 BC). Nowadays it is known as the "father" of Geometry. Euclid was not exactly a great innovator but mainly organizer who systematized and placed on solid theoretical foundations the conclusions reached Thales, Eudoxus and other celebrities of the era. Euclid was able to reconstruct proofs of theorems in short strict conditions.
