Sophocles (496 BC - 406 BC) was a Greek tragic poet of the classical era. He, Aeschylus and Euripides are the three tragic poets whose works have survived complete. According to ancient testimonies seem that he wrote about 120 works, of which only seven are delivered complete tragedies.
