If you use Winamp® to play music on your PC, then Ampwifi is what you've been looking for. Ampwifi is a remote control app for your phone or tablet to control Winamp over Wi-Fi. This includes all the basic playback features like pause, rewind, volume, shuffle and many more. You can also view the current playlist and even browse and search your music folders. Ampwifi Winamp Remote is designed to be lightweight and responsive allowing you to make quick adjustments on the fly.

Ratings and reviews

Works great after setting up on pc and opening the port on your firewall (at least I had to), but PLEASE allow me to dismiss the notification play controls. Even when the app is not running, they are stuck on, need to either block or turn off in the app. Pretty lame... Otherwise would be 5 stars. Please please fix! (Thanks for reply!... other media apps allow dismissal BTW, YouTube music, powerplayer, etc)

I've been using this for quite a few years, this is the best and easiest to use winamp remote app out there. I really appreciate that you continue to update the app, thanks so much! The wife has it on her phone also, so sometimes we fight over which song to play next. If you could tell me how I could remotely disable her app so I always win, it would be absolutely perfect!

Ver 3.3d. Very robust & intuitive operation. If I was to design a WinAMP remote it would function pretty much like Ampwifi. Setup config a bit finicky but easy, great details available on app webpage. Will check performance over next few days with connecting/behaving properly but very impressive tool so far. Puts seamless control of WinAMP in your hand from anywhere on your WiFi network. Impressive. UPDATE: Just WOW! Absolutely robust control. Everything I wanted. Also works well with WACUP.

What's new

The Media Library tab has a new way to navigate to the parent and root folder. Instead of the ".." row at the top of the folder/file list there is now a dedicated "Up" button that takes you to the parent folder. Also, there is now a "Home" button that takes you to the root folder. Next to those is the name of the current folder.

Also included are some fixes that were required for the newer versions of Android, mostly Android 13 & 14.
