About this game

Test FOOTSIES skill with your friends anywhere with local arcade style battle!

FOOTSIES is a 2D fighting game where players can control character movement horizontally and use one attack button to perform normal and special moves to defeat their opponent. While the controls (and graphics) are super simple, FOOTSIES retains the fundamental feeling of fighting game genre where spacing, hit confirm and whiff punish are keys to achieve victory.

Mechanics
- There is no health bar. The round is lost after being hit by special moves.
- There is, however, guard bar. You can block opponent attack up to three times. After that, every attack will cause guard break.
- There are two type of normal moves, neutral attack and forward/backward attack.
- There are two type of special moves which can be performed by holding and then release attack button. One can be performed by neutral release, and forward/backward release for the other one.
- If normal moves connect with the opponent, whether on hit or block, it can be canceled into neutral special move by pressing an attack button again.
- Forward and backward dashes can be performed by pressing forward/backward twice.

Amazing fighting game. I've been waiting forever for a REAL fighting game to hit mobile. No card system, no I pay more I auto win, just good ol fashion timing and strategy, twitch muscle in the moment fighting goodness. Just cannot wait for online play to come into the system ;) Also, brutally tough AI. Wouldn't have it any other way, maybe a difficulty level for those who want it a lil less insane?? It's perfect for me though lolp

The game is good and all, but I noticed a weird thing while playing. You described the bar in the left and right corners as a "guard bar", but if you get hit without getting comboed into a special move, the gauge still decreases regardless if you were guarding or not. Is that intentional? Also if you still update the game, it would be cool if you put in parrying like SF2-3, especially since most attacks come out fast so you have to anticipate it.

Really good stuff. Simple, yet addicting. Would be nice for some kind of online so I can challenge my friends. I also think the attack buttons and maybe the movement buttons should be bigger, as it's easy to miss them. This game is great for new and veteran fighting game players to learn or improve their fundamentals. This game unfortunately has been unplayable for a long time becaude of how laggy and unresponsive it became for whatever reason.
