I love this app! I use it as an alert method to notify me of lightning storms in a larger town about 30 miles from where I live. It's on lake Superior and the lightning shows are incredible and I enjoy taking pics whenever I can. This app gives me real time alerts to strikes within any radius I set. It's less of a safety thing, more of a personal hobby tool for me. I also have a portable lightning detector that claims to detect up to 40 miles, but it misses many. The app is king for notification

Great and timely app. Would like to see historical strikes that go back beyond just 60 minutes. Thanks for animating the radar! Update: recent update took away the radar animation slider. The settings still have the ability to show or hide but it's no longer on the main screen. Please look into this. Update: fixed!

When I use the app and tap for a lighting distance from my home it always shows 24.7 miles away even when the lightning is on my street!! I live in the lightning capital of the U.S and do not receive the information I need. The notifications do not come frequently enough at all! This app is unreliable during a storm. UPDATE: I received a timely email from the developer. My problem is resolved and I love this app. The only improvement would be a time on the notifications without going to the app.
