Ratings and reviews

Like many other backgammon games, higher AI just means "luckier" roles. This, in turn, makes your backgammon game worse, not better, because you avoid being hit no matter the odds. For example, I had one piece open. AI character had a 2-in-36 chance of hitting it. Of course, it was hit. I had 4-points open to get off the bar. After 4-doubles in a row, I was still on the bar. AI opponent then covered their third point. 8-rolls later, I was still on the bar with 3-points still covered. What odds??

AI cheats. My last game: only valid move forced me to leave a piece open for the 10th turn in a row. The AI as always when a player piece is on its own, rolls exactly what was needed to take my only ungaurded piece off the board. Okay, fine, next roll: double fours. The only space in the return zone guarded by two AI pieces. This happened 4 consecutive times. The next was a different number, but by then the ai guarded that space too. One game like this, whatever. 5 games in a row? Uninstall.

Great option to play without the doubling cube. A couple things could be improved. Weird that there is an UNDO button that can only be used after the first die move, not the second. Also long gaps of time after one player moves before the dice are rolled again - makes the game SO slow. If you are going to timeout a player for not playing within a certain time, then DISPLAY THE TIMER! No warning on when previous player is done. Overall this is my go to app for pure, unadulterated backgammon!
