My Fishing Mate is the essential app for recreational fishing, anywhere in Australia. It has all of the size, bag, and boat limits, open and closed seasons, and any other applicable rules for each species of fish and invertebrate, both freshwater and saltwater. Every state is included - NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS and NT. Every species that has any fishing regulations is here, (nearly) all with photos, so you can be confident that you are fishing within the state's laws. You can directly search for a fish from the scroll list, or swipe from fish to fish to quickly find what you've just caught. The app is designed with a crisp and clean interface to maximise screen real estate so that you can read it easily in outdoor conditions, and all of the info is available even in offline mode, so you can use it anywhere where the fish are! A good app. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star review was because when I searched for a bony bream, it came up in fresh water rather than salt water. I wonder if there might be some other species as well. But over all, the best fishing app I have found to date.

This app is out of date and potentially will cost you thousands in fines. Bag limits are wrong and does not have fin closures for 2019 even. Ok, i thought I'd try it again, but it's still out if date. This app has 2020 rules and closure dates. This is October 2023. You'll still be getting thousands in fines with this app

The version update cannot be loaded. Still out of date. If caught with out of date bag limits you will pay big time. Useless!
