About this app

Made by the Netherlands’ top app developers at Pixplicity, this app generates single-use password codes that you use in combination with a regular username and password. Much like other well known authenticator apps that shan't be named (and fully compatible!) it works with many online accounts and even without a data connection, but with many, many improvements:

Using this app you can finally back-up your accounts to your favourite cloud, transfer them to a new phone without hiccups, or even share them with your partner.

Only with Pixplicity Authenticator, you..

• ... will never again have to reset TFA on all your accounts when you buy a new phone.
• ... won’t have to trust our cloud with your accounts (since we don’t have a cloud and we don’t store your accounts).
• ... won’t have to trust other cloud providers with your accounts (since we encrypt your back-up using strong AES 256-bit encryption).

Novelty features include:

• Dark theme support
• Recognise accounts by their app icons
• Copy one-time passcodes to clipboard
• Back-up and restore your accounts
• Share accounts by scanning a QR code
• Authorise using your fingerprint before sharing or creating back-ups
• Encrypted account storage
Security: this app doesn't even request internet permission, and is utterly unable to secretly send your stuff to some shady servers.

Clean and simple GUI. Large displayed numerical font makes it easy to read displayed TOTP codes. Doesn't report 2FA login activity to remote servers (looking at you, Authy). Easy to make password protected encrypted backups of all secret account tokens. This is a good TOTP authenticator app. Would like to see a couple of improvements though. Sorting of items is currently based on order in which they were added to Pixplicity Authenticator. I would prefer alphabetical sorting by name of account label or by account username. Would also much prefer if access to Pix Authenticator required fingerprint or PIN entry. This would markedly improve its security.

HORRIBLE! There is NOTHING telling HOW to USE THE app. I thought "how hard can it be?" OMG! You have to scan a QRcode from the Only device available.... the one in your hand!? It says it sent a code to my phone..... No It Did Not. There was a number that was slowly disapearing.... I copied that one and pasted it to the account I was trying to get into. THAT wasn't the correct one either.... wth?

Based on free otp red head source, but that default app is lot better, UI even though it tends to be flashy its kinda watered down. Basic app lock with fingerprint and such is not even supported. It's easier to fork the open sourced red hat than this.

What's new

No functional changes in this update. We simply removed all references to Google libraries that falsely made the Play store think that we were collecting data. We pinky-promise that we are not!
