Lexica is a word game where players are given 3 to 30 minutes to find as many words as possible on a grid of random letters.
Features:
* Several international dictionaries, with a combined total of millions of words
* Multiplayer mode (send challenges to friends via SMS/Email/etc)

Great and challenging game but the dictionary is really inconsistent for allowing or not allowing loan words! You can have Mexican drinks and Morroccan foods whose names are not really 'part' of English, but it also doesn't accept things that are real English words! What is its source for word lists???

Thanks for the honest feedback. The English dictionaries are from over a decade ago and need updating. We are on the lookout for a new freely licensed dictionary here: https://github.com/lexica/lexica/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3Adictionary-en. Feel free to chip in if you know of any!

NO ADS!! No permissions required! No invasion of your privacy! Plus I love this game, but it's pretty challenging!! I've played for months, but I've only found more than 40% of the possible words, a handful of times, even using the longest time allotment (30 minutes), even changing the dictionary used! This game is great, though: a tough game for word nerds. Or, well, you may THINK you're a word nerd... until you play this and realize how many words you DON'T know!

Thank you for the kind words, glad you're enjoying it. Keep an eye out for the new v2.0 coming out soon, where you will be able to see a history of all words you've ever found :) I expect it will be ready for release some time in late March, early April.

Truly free with no ads. An older version let me set up a 5x5 grid and require words be 5 letters long. Tgis version seems to only have a 4x4 grid and 3 letter words, which is really too easy. Kind of a bummer that the customization got cut.

Thanks for reviewing. The customisation is still there, but moved to "Game modes". View/create new modes via the top right of the main menu. This was required to manage the exploding permutations of settings as the game grew, which was making it hard to do simple things like "What is my highest score" (different scores kept for each game mode).

French dictionary improvements (thanks to input from @mccoys):
* Improved board selection: Probabilities now calculated from the frequency with which letters occur in the dictionary.
* Removed letters à, ö, ü, ë: Each occur in less than 50 words, typically in loanwords.
* Q is always followed by u.
