Ratings and reviews

Excellent for picking up sentence structure and expanding vocabulary. Especially effective when you have someone to talk to. Since duolingo discontinued tagalog, this is a wonderful replacement if you're trying to learn. Some words don't seem to be spelled correctly (early example: "aleman" and "germany") and the guided pronunciation segments don't know what to do about it. Will see how it goes in the later sections. Highly recommended for anyone learning tagalog from 0.

Interface is nice. I appreciate the variety of exercises. Audio is helpful. My main gripe is that I think the app is very poor at explaining & breaking down the grammar and sentence structure, which I think is important since Tagalog is so diff from English. Sentences use new words or modified vers of vocab w/o really explaining it. Overall, the app looks nice but the few free lessons provide a lackluster foundation to the language. Will not be getting the premium version

Updating this just to write that Ling is a very friendly, easy to use, and fun app. A great way to casually pick up languages. I've used a bunch of different language learning apps and this one is one of my top three favorites and it has a lot of great features other apps don't have like the chat bot to practice conversations in a more organic way. Definitely worth downloading, trying out, and supporting them if you like it and are able to.
