I have sent feedback on this app many times about the app always stalling if interrupted, failures to swap bt connection cleanly. For a very short while a week or two ago, it started working. Would pick up where it left off without having to kill and restart the app. The last update totally messed it up. Now, if the app is interrupted, it appears to play but no sound. Kill the app and go back to downloads and the app now starts playback from the beginning. For catchup playback, it is awful.

Podcast stops playing when I get a message or alert, and when I press play again, my volume's been turned all the way down. Podcast page frequently "unavailable." I don't want to scroll through Global's other podcasts to find Chris Moyles -- I want just Radio X, which is why I downloaded the app in the first place. And just bc I'm in America does not mean I want to hear the 11 a.m. show at 11 a.m. MY time. I want to hear you guys live! Uninstalling and listening thru the website instead. :-(

2023-09: Fine until it cuts out. Then just doesn't seem to want to pick up again. I notice similar experiences being reported. Not good enough, Global. 2024-02: much better now. Don't notice any drops at all. -1 point for not giving the playing track on downloaded shows (like iPlayer).
