The deterioration of WD products is so significant, you would swear they were acquired by Symantec. Nevermind abandoning critical features and replacing them with... well, nothing. Nevermind that using features like USB Backup feel like solving an escape room puzzle. Why did it lack basically functionality like a progress bar when uploading a file? They used to be the king. Western Digital has become a joke. Also, it's super classy that files only show 6 characters ... then the last two. Boo.

Almost every time I want to show someone a photo or video via this app it, doesn't work. Invariably, I have to uninstall then immediately reinstall the app and go through the setup again. Such a pain. I stopped using the auto backup feature due to it taking forever to backup files that have already been backed up. App needs an ini file that holds file names, dates, sizes, etc so that the same files don't have to be backed up every time the app is opened.

2/3/24: I have to update: I haven't been able to access my storage from this phone app for a couple of months. I have tried off and on, but get stymied. It doesn't want to recognize my connected NAS drive, just taking me to say I need to purchase one. Frustrating. 2022: Works much better than the previous version, for my older NAS drive. File access had been seamless
