About this app

The public transport administration Luxembourg presents its mobiliteit.lu journey planner, a revolutionary tool in Europe, which includes all modes of transport. Your own two feet, bicycles, buses, trains, the tram and your own car all have a place in the app, which now shows you even smarter routes! Discover the interplay of different modes of transport and create your own personal mobility chain within the app! The “My Mix” tab shows multi-mobile routes that make sense for your needs and preferences.

The power of the new mobiliteit.lu tool resides in its cooperation with third party mobility services. The planner suggests smart ways to reach your destination thanks to real-time information about the availability of vel’OH! and Vël’Ok bike sharing services, as well as of free spaces at Chargy points for electric cars. It even gives you an availability estimate for these services for a future date! For your travels by car, the planner even notifies you of possible disruptions on the roads in Luxembourg as well as in the Greater Region and shows you Park + Ride offers!

The app used to be more user friendly : you could just open it and click on two random places in your favourites, where one became the starting point of the journey and the other the destination. And it was faster this way. Now if I click on a favourite place, there is a popup window asking me whether I want the place to become the start, destination or via. Seriously?? Who uses "via" option every day? Very annoying feature. And a waste of time. I liked the app better when it was intelligent.

The app asks you to define a home address but then you can't use the 'home' shortcut when planning journeys. Also the app crashed when I tried to add more addresses. The ability to define walking speed or set preference for how far you're happy to walk if it makes the journey quicker would be very helpful. The London equivalent of this app had that functionality 10 years ago! The ability to report transport problems directly through the app would be very helpful. Overall it does an ok job.

Not reliable at all. It doesn't give you accurate information, ex: timeschedules and especially busstops. It happened to me multiple times that I had to wait at a wrong stop because the app said the real stop wasn't operating or the map wasn't accurate enough about the location. It often gives you bad alternatives or connections. I usually have to check the individual itineraries to pick a better choice. Nice idea for an app... but it needs improvement and information that is actually true...
