Mobile ID, mobile driver's license, and mobile national veterans registration card are ID cards issued to personal smartphones and have the same legal effect as current ID cards.


Mobile ID, mobile driver's license, and mobile National Veterans Registration Card are ID cards issued by the government to individual smartphones. They have the same legal effect as current ID cards and can be used conveniently. Currently, you can issue a driver's license, and we plan to expand this to include resident registration cards in the future.


A mobile driver's license is a driver's license that can be encrypted and safely stored on an individual's smartphone, and is a legal ID issued directly by the National Police Agency.


- Possess a driver's license or obtain a new one
- Smartphone in your name
- Those who can verify their identity by signing up for a domestic mobile communication service
- Android OS 7.0 or higher, biometric authentication, NFC support
※ Those who have not been issued an IC driver's license can receive a QR on-site at the driver's license test center.
※ It is also available for budget phone users.
(However, among budget phones, KCT (Korea Cable Telecom)'s Tplus is excluded)
※ Corporate mobile phones, anonymous prepaid phones, and Blackberry models are currently not available.


You can quickly obtain a driver's license by visiting the driver's license test center with your actual driver's license and a smartphone in your name with the mobile ID app installed. You can also apply for an IC driver's license online at the police station's civil service office or at the Road Traffic Authority's Safe Driving Integrated Civil Service website.

- Method 1. Replace the physical driver's license with an IC driver's license and issue a mobile driver's license directly through recognition (tag) on ​​the smartphone.
- Method 2. Issuing a mobile driver’s license without replacing the physical license using on-site QR issuance at the driver’s license test center.

※ The mobile driver's license is a legally binding ID and requires at least one face-to-face identity verification process at the issuing agency.
※ If you exchange your physical driver's license for an IC driver's license, you do not need to revisit the agency to reissue your mobile driver's license even when you replace your mobile phone in the future.
※ IC driver's license can be received on the same day when applying for it by visiting a license examination center, and it takes about 15 days when applying by visiting a police station.
※ When applying for issuance of an IC driver's license online, you must specify a date 15 days after the application date (excluding public holidays) as the date of receipt.
※ For details on IC driver’s license issuance, please refer to the Road Traffic Authority’s integrated civil service website (www.safedriving.or.kr).


- IC driver's license tag method: Remove the smartphone case, place the IC driver's license on the floor, and touch it for more than 3 to 4 seconds. The NFC setting “normal mode” status and contact location differ depending on the smartphone model, so confirmation is required.

※ If you use your IC driver's license in conjunction with your transportation card, it may be recognized multiple times, so please do not use it.

- Face authentication method: Clean the front camera of your smartphone, place your arms about 40 to 50 cm apart so that your entire face is illuminated in as bright a place as possible, and look straight ahead at an angle, then blink or follow the guidance message. , Please turn your head to the right or left.

그냥 지문인식이나 하지, 보안성도 떨어지는 얼굴인식을 굳이 적용해서 정확도 높이려니 False Negative 만 잔뜩 나와 쓸 수가 없는 지경. 누구머리에서 나온 건지 담당자 자르고 지문인식 써라.

앱 정말 깔끔하게 잘 만들었네요. 안면 인식이야 애플처럼 따로 만들진 않았을 테니 조금 버벅일 순 있어도, 전체적인 앱 경험(특히 모바일 신분증 발급까지의 경험)이 너무 부드러워서 놀랐습니다. 정부 주관 서비스여서 불신이 있던 건 맞지만, 그래도 이 정도로 깔끔할 줄 몰랐어요. 기회가 되면 서비스 기획하신 분을 만나뵙고 싶네요 ㅋㅋ. 앱 잘 쓸게요. 감사합니다.
