About this app

The Bridgefy App lets you send offline messages to friends and family within 330 ft (100 m) when you don't have access to Internet, by simply turning on your Bluetooth antenna. Bridgefy is ideal for traveling, natural disasters, rural communities, music festivals, sports stadiums, and much more.

Use the Broadcast tab of the app so you can chat with other Bridgefy users within your Bluetooth's antenna range during tough times in which Internet connectivity is complicated. All messages sent through the Bridgefy messaging app mesh networks are encrypted. Please keep in mind Broadcast messages can be seen by anybody nearby.

How to start using Bridgefy:

1.- Turn on Bluetooth

2.- Open Bridgefy, making sure you have an Internet connection (only needed the very first time you open it). Give the app location permissions (to use the Bridgefy technology via Bluetooth).

3.- Go to the Broadcast tab

4.- Start sharing messages with people that are within 330 ft. (100 mts) from you

Please refer to the FAQ tab for instructions on how to start a private chat!

You don't need to add contacts to Bridgefy. The app automatically detects other Bridgefy users around you and lets you chat using the Broadcast section.

Doesnt Work Reliably...Sadly. I was excited about this app because firechat doesnt work reliably either. I was happy to see that they got rid of the requirement to verify. But I cant get it to work reliably with two phones (both LG G6) with airplane mode on, no wifi and bluetooth and location on. And i found that it never worked reliably but i thought i was making progress when i figured out that you need to close and reopen the app once all the necessary settings were on (BT & Location). :(

App is not a one stop shop for offline Bluetooth messaging. Look elsewhere. You have to have internet to complete setup. So out in the middle of a campground k Grand Teton Nat'l park when my wife and I attempted to use it after sharing the file to her it didn't work. Next time we had service at a visitor center in Yellowstone we both got it working. Later when we tried it away from any networks the private conversation we previously had didn't work. This is NOT an offline friendly app.

Requires the internet and a Google or Apple account to sign in, then requires being near another user with Bluetooth to work. Not much use in a rural setting, but it'd be very fun to try this out in a large city! The broadcasting and daisy chaining abilities are very interesting to me. I would use Bridgefy to recommene Briar if I had the chance.
