The Real411 is an independent public complaints platform where the public can report misinformation, hate speech, incitement to violence, and online attacks on journalists. It was established, and is managed by, Media Monitoring Africa. Furthermore, The Real411 operates in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the South African National Editors Forum (SANEF), the Press Council, and the IABSA.

Ratings and reviews

I appreciate what they're trying to do and this is important work, but at the moment their clearance speed is far too slow. They need to bring on more staff to help them work through their backlog as quickly as possible

Feels clunky and unfinished. View complaints section is unusable for fact checking due to large number of unfinished complaints and no way to filter by status or topic.
