What can I say? This man was blessed with a great voice and a knack for telling succinct, engaging tales. I've been listening to Mike Rowe's podcast from the beginning, so this book (especially as an audiobook) is a fun refresher on some of those stories already told with a few new, more personal ones. With stories told in a style similar to Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story," Mike entertains and mystifies the listener. Sometimes about war heroes, sometimes about pop icons, and sometimes about inventors of innovations that we could not imagine life without, every story is a fun and exciting game of "Who is this about? Oh, I know! Wait... no, that's not right..." Each story is perfect for a short commute to work or just to the grocery store. This collection of stories is something that I would recommend to anyone.

Riveting... I want more. But your voice kept activating my Cortana... apparently our voices are alike. I had to listen to my phone and you periodically! Love you dude!

No one writes this way anymore. I loved Paul Harvey and this book is a tribute to that type of story telling. Fantastic job Mike. It may not be dirty but it was a tough job... well done.

Mike Rowe is best known as the executive producer and host of the hit shows Dirty Jobs, Somebody’s Gotta Do It, and Returning the Favor, for which he won an Emmy. He also hosts the podcast The Way I Heard It, a collection of short stories for the “curious mind with a short attention span.” As CEO of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation, Mike has led the effort to close America’s widening skills gap and facilitated the granting of millions of dollars in work ethic scholarships.
