this book was REALLY BORING..I had to read this book for a class and it's probably the worst book I've ever read..way to many characters and reading a whole book of "letters" from 50 different characters is confusing and boring..I couldn't be happier to never have to pick this book up again

Absolutely delightful presentation! Perfectly delivered! The harsh realities of the war were hard to hear but necessary not just for the story but for my own awareness. Beautifully written story!

About the author

Mary Ann Shaffer, who passed away in February 2008, worked as an editor, librarian, and in bookshops. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was her first novel.

Her niece, Annie Barrows, is the author of the children’s series Ivy and Bean, as well as The Magic Half. She lives in northern California.
