I like Stephen King. in general, I think he is a good storyteller. As for this book? Aside from it being predictable, I think it would have benefited from editing. For example, when you already know the outcome (because the narrator has revealed it), then describing what happened feels like filler. As for the narration, again, I was disappointed. The Flagg character often speaks in whispers. That's fine, except the narration dips so soft that you can no longer understand what he is saying.

if you (unlike me) liked "the talisman" and "black house", you might like this. it just seems like the same basic storyline of "the talisman" and "BH", but not as interesting. as another reviewer mentioned, the narrator tells you how it's gonna end, so the things that should be interesting (the entire book in between the beginning and the end) just seem to move slowly and there is no feeling of surprise or suspense, because you already know what will happen. also, like so many audiobooks nowadays (thanks for nothing Hollywood) the narrator feels the need to whisper many lines (dialogue and descriptions) in order to sound more "dramatic". instead of being dramatic, it becomes tedious, having to raise and lower the volume in order to hear everything clearly. a sub-par story with decent narration (when he speaks loud enough to hear, that is) read nearly anything else of King's and you'll get your money's worth and have more fun. I'm a big SK fan, but I'd SKip this one

This audiobook feels like it was abridged it in a way. I'm not much of a reader, even in my own language that I can hardly remember reading any books (expect textbooks). So, I'm glad that I've purchased this audiobook and listen to it. I like it, I like the story because it is not too complicated or too many subplot storyline to it which it's good and simple straight forward, and pretty focus. What's bothering me most with this audiobook is that I feel like this is a abridged version, which there are chapters in this audiobook feel unfinished! For whatever reasons that I did not know, but chapter 25, chapter 71 and chapter 83. These 3 chapter all had part of the story or details, sentences where it feels like it got cut off/abridged it. Also how I wish it was read slower when they records this book, that would've been much much better, if the person who read it could read it slower.
