I still cannot believe what an incredible history this country has. This book taught me so much about these particular Indians and how they treated not only other Indians without any mercy, but also Americans and other people. amazing book.

The best book I’ve read since Lonesome Dove. It may be the best non-fiction I’ve ever read, except perhaps Caro’s Johnson series. Just my opinion, but I don’t believe there’s a more realistic, truer account of American middle-nineteenth century history. My compliments to the author.

This is one of the best books I have read in the past 20 years. This man paints pictures with his words and it is historically accurate. Great book Great writer.
