Cheap shot is what I feel when I think about this book.I have read every Spenser novel and this is the worst one and probably bad enough to make R.B.P turn over in his grave.might be time to retire Spenser

Cheap Shot was good and kept me glued, but I miss the old Susan. She is NOT who Parker wrote about. Ive read all Parker's books and will probably take a break before picking up Atkins again.

This book is just like the movie Ransom.

About the author

Robert B. Parker was the author of seventy books, including the legendary Spenser detective series, the novels featuring police chief Jesse Stone, and the acclaimed Virgil Cole–Everett Hitch westerns, as well as the Sunny Randall novels. Winner of the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award and long considered the undisputed dean of American crime fiction, he died in January 2010.
