About this ebook

A bossy cat. An eccentric aunt. An unsolved murder.

Out of work reporter Clarissa Spencer is being stalked by a stray cat. She can’t cook to save her life, her garden is an overgrown mess and her chocolate chip cookie addiction is out of control. Then to top it all off, she gets struck by lightning.

Clarissa thinks she has it bad - until she learns the town mayor has been murdered. Okay, so it could be worse...

Clarissa makes it her mission to expose the true killer before her arch nemesis - an infuriatingly handsome reporter from the city newspaper - can. Unfortunately, solving a murder is easier said than done...especially with the lunacy in Clarissa's life!

Light hearted, good character development and easy to just flick through before bed! The mystery is good although I'd figured it out early on, it was still enjoyable to see how and when the characters would figure it out. And the added element of magic I liked, but then I'm a big Sabrina the teenage witch fan still at 25!

Pleasant read. Great character portrayals by the author. A murder mystery, some deal of romance and an obsessed woman on the road of self-recognition. A small and tedious town with no serious criminal activity ever committed. Then comes a murder which changes things around. Classic stereotype in such genre but well concocted. But an unnecessary addition of magic and whatnots. Should have replaced such story contortions with other add-ons to the thrilling murder suspense. Still a good read for the 'murder mystery with a little romance' fans.
