About this ebook

Breq and her crew must stand against an old and powerful enemy and fight for their own destinies in the stunning conclusion to the New York Times bestselling trilogy. A must read for fans of Ursula K. Le Guin and James S. A. Corey.

For a moment, things seemed to be under control for Breq, the soldier who used to be a warship. Then a search of Athoek Station's slums turns up someone who shouldn't exist, and a messenger from the mysterious Presger empire arrives, as does Breq's enemy, the divided and quite possibly insane Anaander Mianaai -- ruler of an empire at war with itself.

Breq refuses to flee with her ship and crew, because that would leave the people of Athoek in terrible danger. The odds aren't good, but that's never stopped her before.

An absolutely outstanding conclusion to an already awarded-winning series. Leckie deftly brings everything from books 1 and 2 together into a symphony of what it means to be human. We learn a great secret regarding the Radch, and it's truly mind-bending to consider what it means. This is especially relevant given the source of the main character. The writing, too, continues to progress in fluidity as in the previous books, and deftly calls attention to these important questions.

Takes the premise from the first two books and builds it to a satisfying conclusion. Wonderful world building. However, the second and third book had less of a 'space opera' feel and more of a 'space soap opera' vibe. Still, I thouroughly enjoyed all of them.

The book has a satisfying enough, full ending, but it's entirely unexpected and underwhelmingly low-key. Still a very good series and worth a read.
