Cornwell tells the story on both sides of the conflict, based largely on real figures, including of course Paul Revere (famous from the much later poem).

Ratings and reviews

I was really frustrated by this book. I am a huge fan of Mr. Cornwell's other work, but this one seemed to be pretty anti-climatic in its ending. I know it is historical fiction, so maybe a different battle would have been better??

Engaging as only Bernard Cornell can. Still my best author.
