This series contains the most horrific and vile depiction of vampires ever dreamt up. Nothing else even comes close. I've long wanted to see a live action movie done, but upon restarting the series again (this will make my 4th) I do believe anime is the way to go. I've been reading this time with anime in mind instead of live action and it's making it fresh again for me.

The greatest paranormal vampire sci-fi series ever hands down I came across the series about 20 yrs ago purely by accident and was hooked from the first chapter. I cannot recommend this enough Anne rice"s interview came out around the same period and while her vampires are of a classical style with a few modern twists lumleys vampires are cold devious deceptive downright evil gritty dirt and strangely more real feeling in there written execution. And the historical description is superb. Rice"s description of the smell if a new Orleans suberb is eloquent and beautiful. Lumleys description if viscera flesh and Bone is equally eloquent. Just all round superb. 10/10 *'s

I'm so glad this is on Google books. I had the paperback some years ago, but alas I lost it. I'm happy to be reunited with the books from the best vampire series ever
