About this ebook

Will her secret identity ruin her second chance for love?

Madison Altman gave up on love when her fiancé was killed on their wedding day. Fleeing the heartbreak, she disguises herself as a man and accepts a job that takes her far, far away from Earth—chaperoning mail-order brides going to meet their alien mates on planet Dakon.

Unfortunately, on this trip, the spaceship leaves without her, stranding her on the icy planet in the middle of a blizzard. Luckily, Dakonian leader Enoki comes to her rescue. Tall and dark, with a sexy, gravelly voice, he’s just the sort of alien man a human girl could go for—if she was open to love and wasn’t pretending to be a man.

The winds of fate had whispered to Enoki that his mate was coming, so he’s stunned when she isn’t among the latest shipment of females from Earth. After all the chosen men of his tribe pair off with their females, the only person left is Madison, the young human man with whom he’d developed a friendship. Suppressing his disappointment, Enoki devotes himself to helping his marooned friend get back to his home planet.

But why do the winds of fate still whisper his mate is near? And why does his gut tell him not to let Madison go?

Fun little alien romance with a sci-fi twist. Some logical inconsistencies stretch the story, but the original concept is interesting.

This author has written a splendid, highly entertaining alien romance that captures a reader’s attention & keeps it until the last page has been turned. The story-line & plot is well-thought out & written. The characters are well-developed with distinctive personalities & react with varying emotions and /or emotional turmoil to the situations they find themselves in. There is: aliens, humans, mail order brides, a emotionally wounded human female in disguise (Madison), a caring but lonely alien leader of Dakon (Enoki), twists & turns, intrigue, drama, humor, memories, misconception, misunderstandings, confusion, cynicism, judgmental, emotional turmoil, anguish, deceit, injuries, doubts, premonitions, disclosure, anger, friendly advice, verbal conflict, challenges, physical conflict, flirting, desire, mates, happiness, some steam & a wonderful, satisfying epilogue. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this alien romance & would recommend it.

This was the first book in the Alien Mate series that I have read although I have read several books from it's related Dakonian Alien Mail Order Brides Series. I really enjoyed the plot and characters in this book as well as seeing how things came together for Madison and Enoki. I look forward to backtracking to read more of this series as well as many other books by Cara Bristol.
