Chills ran up my spine as I read this new book. I honestly had to read it during the day and with all the lights on. A great start to a new series by Christine Pope. I’m not a fan of horror or paranormal, but it is an interesting premise. The cliffhanger, ugh, I’m desperate to know the rest. With well developed characters and an enthralling plot, I’m excited for the next book to get here. I did receive an ARC.

This book got off to a slow start for me and that is unusual for a Christine Pope novel. Once the background was built though I was all in. Audrey and Michael’s character growth is well written and the author does a good job with her surprise revelations. I appreciated knowing up front this story will be continued in forth coming books so the cliffhanger was not an irritating shock rather it was a great ending. The further reveal of character history was an interesting and intriguing surprise…lots to look forward to in the next book which thankfully comes out in March so not a long wait.

Fab new series! Rapid paced, unputdownable and downright scary in bits! Audrey is the perfect foil for Michael. She is an educated psychologist with a personal interest in the paranormal. She has suffered traumatic loss and had a kinda psychic blip that she had to hide for years. Michael is the TV and Media goto guy for the paranormal. But he seems to have some very deep secrets that he does not want Audrey to uncover! Always be on your toes when dealing with evil - you never know when it might follow you home! Defo read this with the lights on!!! Warning there is a cliffhanger to lead into book 2 (dammit!!)
