About the author
Initially a French/English teacher, Emma Darcy changed careers to computer programming before the happy demands of marriage and motherhood. Very much a people person, and always interested in relationships, she finds the world of romance fiction a thrilling one and the challenge of creating her own cast of characters very addictive.
Diana Hamilton’s first stories were written for the amusement of her children. They were never publihed, but the writing bug had bitten. Over the next ten years she combined writing novels with bringing up her children, gardening and cooking for the restaurant of a local inn – a wonderful excuse to avoid housework! In 1987 Diana realized her dearest ambition – the publication of her first Mills & Boon romance. Diana lives in Shropshire, England, with her husband.
When Jacqueline Baird is not busy writing she likes to spend her time travelling, reading and playing cards. She enjoys swimming in the sea when the weather allows. With a more sedentary lifestyle, she does visit a gym three times a week and has made the surprising discovery that she gets some of her best ideas while doing mind-numbingly boring exercises on the weight machines and airwalker. Jacqueline lives with her husband Jim in Northumberland.
Kate Walker was always making up stories. She can't remember a time when she wasn't scribbling away at something and wrote her first “book” when she was eleven. She went to Aberystwyth University, met her future husband and after three years of being a full-time housewife and mother she turned to her old love of writing. Helen Brooks began writing in 1990 as she approached her 40th birthday! She realized her two teenage ambitions (writing a novel and learning to drive) had been lost amid babies and hectic family life, so set about resurrecting them. In her spare time she enjoys sitting in her wonderfully therapeutic, rambling old garden in the sun with a glass of red wine (under the guise of resting while thinking of course). Helen lives in Northampton, England with her husband and family.
Lee Wilkinson writing career began with short stories and serials for magazines and newspapers before going on to novels. She now has more than twenty Mills & Boon romance novels published. Amongst her hobbies are reading, gardening, walking, and cooking but travelling (and writing of course) remains her major love. Lee lives with her husband in a 300-year-old stone cottage in a picturesque Derbyshire village, which, unfortunately, gets cut off by snow most winters!
Susanne James has enjoyed creative writing since childhood, completing her first – and sadly unpublished – novel by the age of twelve. She has three grown-up children who are her pride and joy, and who all live happily in Oxfordshire with their families. Susanne was always happy to put the needs of her family before her ambition to write seriously, although along the way some published articles for magazines and newspapers helped to keep the dream alive!
Amanda Browning began writing romances when she left her job at the library and wondered what to do next. She remembered a colleague once told her to write a romance, and went for it. What is left of her spare time is spent doing gardening and counted cross-stitch, and she really enjoys the designs based on the works of Marty Bell. Amanda is happily single and lives in the old family home on the borders of Essex, England.
