I've read many of Jack's books: this one is my favorite I think. I have a ship named after a character in it in fact; named after Sessily. It's likewise my favorite ship.. "Sessily's Revenge." Anyway, a great book, and you should read it. If you are a fan of Jack Vance, you must read it. Beware: you'll have to find the last book in the series, book three, on old Earth itself somewhere. 😉
