A good read for all levels of horror fan. The setting was rich, the characters somewhat interesting, and the atmosphere was tense; but I can't help but feel the protagonist was a bit flat. Still, recommend it and will definitely read more Herbert, but hardly 'the master of horror' so far.

Too short to get any more but Ash is a well written character and he produces moments of creepiness

This is my favourite book, I read it at least once a year, the imagery is spot on and the chills towards the climax are nothing short of spectacular. You MUST read this.
