I had read several of the books in this collection many years ago, but couldn't remember the story very well, I had the first one in my Kindle collection, so when I saw a chance to buy the whole collection of 6 through Google Books, I jumped at it. I just finished reading Book 1 and, as remembered, it is delightful and beautifully written. I loved following Elizabeth on her train trip from Toronto to the West. Her experience of teaching school to all grades in a one room classroom is very familiar to me, as that was how I received my education in PEI until a H.S. was built when I was entering Grade 10. Looking forward to reading the whole collection about the Canadian West, thanks to Janette Oke.

I first watched the television series on the Hallmark Channel. Then saw the movie. And this book came last. It was beautiful. I understand the Elizabeth in the book is supposed to be the Aunt of the Elizabeth in the series. I love both Elizabeths. This is the first book I have read in its entirety in quite some time as life is busy. But it was worth every spare second i could find to read it. As a teacher myself, i found similarities in Ms. Thatcher s students to my own 8th graders. Absolutely loved it!

This wasn't the story I thought it was going to be but I loved it just ad much, I love how you get so involved with the people. Ms. Oke brings all her characters to life. I can't wait to start the next one.
