This book is quite boring. Out of the maybe 270 pages (I've looked), it gets to the main plot part at PAGE 110. This book is incredibly boring. I'm currently forcing myself to read it because I have an obligation to do so (for a book club I am in). The first problem this book has that makes it boring is the annoying characters. You have Lina Mayfleet, an girl who is so depressed because she got the pipe worker job. Then you have Doon (who's name makes him sounds like the child of a Celebrity gone mad), a boy who's obsessed with fixing the City of Ember. The second problem, is the fact that it takes soo long to get to the main point. This book is so slow paced. As I mentioned in the beginning, it took 110 PAGES TO GET TO THE POINT. That's 25 pages from half of the book. It takes about HALF of the book to get anywhere. It takes it maybe another 40 paged to get back. (Spoilers ahead)I also find it annoying that Lina's Granny dies and they just completely pass that over. I cant fit it all
