About this ebook

Winner of the Children's Choice Book Awards' Teen Choice Debut Author Award

Everyone knows Alice slept with two guys at one party. When Healy High star quarterback, Brandon Fitzsimmons, dies in a car crash, it was because he was sexting with Alice. Ask anybody.

Rumor has it Alice Franklin is a slut. It's written all over the "slut stall" in the girls' bathroom: "Alice had sex in exchange for math test answers" and "Alice got an abortion last semester." After Brandon dies, the rumors start to spiral out of control. In this remarkable debut novel, four Healy High students tell all they "know" about Alice--and in doing so reveal their own secrets and motivations, painting a raw look at the realities of teen life. But in this novel from Jennifer Mathieu, exactly what is the truth about Alice? In the end there's only one person to ask: Alice herself.

This title has Common Core connections.

Normally I don't read the futuristic stuff but this one was a nice surprise. The language was very normal which usually in these types of books are unrecognizable and made up. Also the names were a cool thing. It was Alice but not lol. The dominant male character was such a traditional part it made the story better. I would definitely recommend this book. Although I do love all Alta's books. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I stumbled across this read one day cruising along the library, of my hometown. Which suxxx by the way. Although, the moment I started '"The Truth About Alice"' I found it irresistibly relateable! The characteristics of each character. Too the T;) Spoke to me on levels, goes beyond my wits of explaining. I couldn't put it down, what I didn't expecthe drama &twist! Unlikeliness of cursing setting the tone @ a higher learning of intelligence! Idk how many X I cried, Thank u for an author whose book was a historical manifestation of one's l!fe such as m;ne!

It pulls you in with the different versions if what happened. Learning about what happened through the words of each character makes this book worth reading. The plot and everything about it is just blissful. I didn't want it to end!

About the author

Jennifer Mathieu started writing stories when she was in kindergarten and now teaches English to middle and high schoolers. She lives in Texas with her husband, her son, her dog, and two cats. Nothing bad has ever been written on the bathroom stall about Jennifer. At least she doesn't think so. The Truth About Alice is Jennifer's debut novel.
