This was a terrific novel. The story plot has a much greater meaning than most people realize. The writing style is great, it is upbeat and sweeps you in. It has meaning other than "violence" and "guns." Stop to realize the complexity of the characters' lives. Joy Fielding is hinting that who someone is as a child is who they will become as adults. Engaging and rich, this is a true page turner like all of Joy Fielding's novels. I only have one complaint: the ending was a dissapointment. Nevertheless, it is Joy Fielding at her best. My rating: A-
