I have been waiting for Kane’s story since I read the first book in this series. Kane and Lark’s love story in Lone Star Homecoming by Justine Davis, book five in her Texas Justice series, reminds us of family love and support comes in all sorts of ways and that forgiveness is possible. Since that day thirteen years when Kane fought with his father, Kane Highwater has carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. Every step, every location, every thought, he has never forgotten that day when he let fear and anger cost him everything; his family and his home. Former Child Protection Service worker, Lark Leclair, has admired the Highwater for many of the things they do for the town of Last Stand, including the never-ending search for their missing brother. She understands probably better than most people why he would run. When Lark spots Kane in a crowd at a national reining competition it will take all of her experience, compassion, empathy, and instinct to convince him to stay. Kane never forgot his siblings, especially the special connection with his sister Sage. When he discovers her competing in reining competition, he finds a way to watch her compete. Every instinct tells Kane to run again, especially when this “stranger” brings him Sage and his brothers. Kane is positive that he will never regain his place, or truly belong, in his legendary family. Now it is up to Lark to work with the family to help convince Kane he is not responsible for the death of their father and that he needs this fresh start back in Last Stand with his family and Lark. The attraction between Kane and Lark is immediate; for some reason he trusts her and believes in her. These two share a strong magnetism and have off the chart chemistry. Not only that, it’s almost like they can read each other’s mind and Lark seems to know Kane better than he knows himself. Ms. Davis wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with a strong attraction, sizzling chemistry, family love and acceptance and a cast of charming characters giving Kane the forgiveness, support, and love he so desperately needs. I highly recommend Lone Star Homecoming to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Justine Davis’ fifth book in the Lone Star Justice series, Lone Star Homecoming, was the perfect culmination of all the books in the series. With a plethora of heart warming, breaking, and sighing moments this definitely is a story I would term as a page turner. Kane and Lark’s story is truly one that literally brought me to tears on one page, and then had me chuckling on the very next...there are a myriad of emotions to be experienced within this story, and is one I can see myself reading time and again. This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Kane has been on the run for the last twelve years, he has now returned home to Last Stand. He left home on a preconceived misconception. He will finally see how his family sticks together through thick and thin. Then there is slow burn romance of instant attraction between Lark and Kane. Loved these characters along with the siblings. Great character development. It shows how important family is. I thought the actual romance was a little rushed at the end. This is the fifth book in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. Believe me, I have not read the first four but I am planning on now.
