About this ebook

The Bad Boys of Baseball are back! In Katie Rose’s sweet, sparkling novel, the newest New Jersey Sonic falls for the woman who’s trying desperately to save his career.

Physical therapist Jessica Hart has learned her lesson: Never date professional athletes. She’s been down that road, and barely recovered after the relationship crashed and burned. Then Jessica meets Gavin King. An All-Star slugger with chiseled good looks, Gavin was traded to the Sonics because he hurt his knee sliding into second, and now his future is in her hands. Gavin’s no bad boy—but he’s tempting enough to make Jessica think twice about all her rules.

Gavin is trying to find a comfortable routine. If he wants his old life back, he must take it easy, stay out of the limelight, and keep his distance from gorgeous redheaded physical therapists. The thing is, Gavin isn’t the kind of guy to sit on his ass and let other people pull his weight. And when he sees something he wants, he can’t help but fight for it, even if it means risking everything, even if it only lasts a single moment: like one kiss from Jessica.

Sports romances tend to follow a pattern, and The Heat of the Moment did so in the best way. With some standard plot points and scenarios, Katie Rose managed to write something fresh and entertaining, and while I figured I would enjoy it, I didn't have a clue just how much! Jessica was easy to relate to, Gavin was just incredible, and their story didn't really take the overused turns I expected. The Heat of the Moment is a standout romance for sports fans and anyone who loves a man in a team uniform. ***FicCentral received this book from Random House LLC (via NetGalley) for free in exchange for an honest review.

A great new addition to the series Boys of Summer series. Gavin was your typical alpha male but he also had a romantic streak that made him extra sexy. Jessica's character was very tomboyish but it didn't make her unlikable in the least bit. Gavin King had a promising career with an elite baseball club. A serious injury to his knee leaves him being traded to a "lesser" team, Gavin finds himself struggling with finding his place with his new team and in life. After growing up with four older brothers, Jessica Hart was used to be just one of the guys. A physical therapist for a professional baseball team Jessica has seen and dated a few pro-ball players but found that to be a road she didn't want to travel again. That is until Gavin King comes into the picture, there is just something about the handsome player that has Jessica lowering her shields and considering taking the chance on love with him. This is the third installment of the series but can be read as a stand alone also. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a feel good romance. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Another great book in The Boys of Summer series / Bad Boys of Baseball series – no cliffhanger This is the third book in The Boys of Summer series but you don’t have to have read the other books to enjoy this one; they all standalone. Gavin King was a hitting star with the Dodgers but he injured his knee and they traded him to the much less desirable New Jersey Sonics. Jessica Hart is a sports therapist for the Sonics and Gavin is assigned to work with her to restore his knee so he can begin playing again. Jessica doesn’t like or date baseball players. Gavin has a girlfriend when he moves to New Jersey but she soon breaks up with him. There is an attraction between Gavin and Jessica but neither of them is interested in a relationship. Working together so closely creates sparks that eventually come to a head. I enjoyed this book a lot; it was a nice summer read. The pace was good and the characters interesting. If you’ve read the first two books you will be happy to revisit those characters in this book but you won’t be missing anything vital if you haven’t read them. The Boys of Summer is a good series and I look forward to reading more books from Katie Rose. Note: I was given an early copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my review. I see that the name of the series appears to have been changed to the Bad Boys of Baseball.
