I will start by saying I read this book when it was first released so this is a re-read for me but I do not remember much of the first reading. I do like the friendship turned love between Paige and Josh and it in no way seemed forced but watching Paige struggle with denying it was difficult. With the background of deceit from her husband it was hard watching her put that label on all police officers and their relationships. Getting tangled in her husband's ultimate deceit that led to his death was heartbreaking but brought her and Josh together and made them work together, on the case and opened their eyes. This was filled with chemistry and intrigue and was a great read. **Received this ARC for review**
