I took a chance on this one and was very surprised. I really liked the writing style, and the story flowed very well. I am definitely going to continue on to the next books. I would say it's a 4.5 out of 5. Only because I'm not into romance, my fault not the book. I wouldn't put the book into a romance section of a book store, however it does hammer down on the way the character oogles attractive characters. Just not my cup of tea with all the details.

If you love Sarah J Maas you will love this series. I have read this series so many times. It has demons, vampires, witches, pixies, fairies and Weres all in present day Cincinnati. You will want to crawl into these books and live there. Kim Harrison is a genius.

A very entertaining read that has enough fantasy, action and suspense to keep the pages turning. It even has a really good ending that still leaves you wanting more without one of those cheesy cliff hangers. 4 stars since I only give 5 for works that change my life or really move me - but still a very good read. M

About the author

Kim Harrison is best known as the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Hollows series, but she has written more than urban fantasy and has published more than two dozen books, spanning the gamut from young adult, accelerated-science thriller, and several anthologies and has scripted two original graphic novels set in the Hollows universe. She has also published traditional fantasy under the name Dawn Cook. Kim is currently working on a new Hollows book between other, nonrelated, urban fantasy projects.
