About this ebook

Enjoy the second book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Series. A small-town, sexy law-enforcement series from USA Today and Wallstreet Journal Bestselling Author, Laramie Briscoe.

If you don't love, you can't get hurt...

Nick Kepler

One thing my childhood taught me was never show my emotions. DonÕt make memories. DonÕt count on other people. DonÕt hope for the best.

All that changed when I was adopted by Ryan and Whitney Kepler.Ê

Begrudgingly I let them into my life, along with my new sister and a best friend I would lay down my life for. But giving up my heart and accepting love in return from Kelsea Harrison? ItÕs the hardest thing IÕve ever tried to do.

And the truth is? IÕm not sure if IÕm that strong.

Kelsea Harrison

From the very moment I met Nick Kepler I knew he would be the love of my life. Problem is I havenÕt been able to convince him of that yet.

When our best friends get married, Nick and I spend a drunken night letting our walls down and losing all our inhibitions. In one moment IÕm given everything I ever wanted. Then, in the blink of an eye itÕs taken away from me.Ê

The question is, can I be strong for the both of us?

The answer? I have to be.

Nick & Kels' love story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot police officers, alpha heroes, smart sassy heroines, friends to lovers, happily ever after, slow burn, emotional romance with plenty of swoon.

Suppression by Laramie Briscoe is the second book in her Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series. This is the next generation awesomeness of the Moonshine Task Force series. So while readers of the the MTF books will get a kick out of the characters involvement in the LSERT series it is all about the new kids. Suppression is the story of Nick Kepler and Kelsea Harrison and is heartfelt, emotional, angsty and wonderful. Nick was rescued by the Keplers when he was in his early teens. A life of abuse and neglect finally came to an end when he joined their family but it seems as though he has always been waiting for the other shoe to drop. As a result he has never allowed anyone too close outside of the Kepler's. Even Kelsea and he has liked her for a long time. Kelsea knows some of the trouble Nick has had to deal with but she is about done putting herself out there for him. While they excel at friendship he just can't seem to let her in any closer than that. But as they both are drawn to each other and their feelings are obvious Nick is getting better at letting her close. But then an opportunity falls into their laps and they have to completely change their dynamic or risk another's well-being. Loved this so much. There has not been a Laramie book so far that I haven't been invested in and this whole Laurel Springs family is one I love to visit again and again. Enjoy!

I don’t know how the author does is. Every Laurel Springs book manages to be even better than the one before it. Sweet and sexy and so full of big emotions. This is not a book you want to read out in public. The fact that that’s exactly what I did is the only reason I didn’t break down into a full-on ugly crying fit. My only option was to remain stoic and blink a lot to clear the tears from my vision. Kelsea is a sweetheart. I’ve adored her for as long as we’ve known her. Sassy, spunky, and utterly devoted to Nick, she’s always been one of my favorites. Nick repeatedly broke my heart. I just wanted to cuddle him close and convince him he was worthy of the love this amazing extended family lavished on him. The unexpected family situation this pair ends up in could only happen to these two. The whole emergency response family would have stepped up, but I’m not sure how many of them would have done so in the same way as Nick and Kels. I don’t know what we should be expecting next, but I know I need to read it as soon as I can get my hands on it. I received a complimentary advanced copy of the book from the author.

This second book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series is more emotional than the first, and this couple's chemistry is a little slower than Ransom and Stella's. Nick and Kelsea are just as good together, but their romance moves at a different pace. Most of that is due to Nick's past and his issues with trusting people. That said, Nick is one of my favorite types of leading man. He's a little grumpy, a little more serious, and a lot broken. He's also a complete sweetheart when he lets people in. Nick and Kelsea are good together, and his protective side shows even before he's willing to admit how he feels. This series centers around a group of police officers, but it's more about their hearts than their jobs, and it's also more about a bit of romance escapism than reality. Don't get me wrong, there are some tricky situations for these guys, and for Nick, there are some heartwrenching ones as well, but the focus is the romance. We also get a sweet little guy that definitely needs a good home and lots of love and support. The story is a fairly quick read, but it's packed full of great characters, and a couple you can't help but root for. And I'll tell ya, if the end of this one doesn't give you a warm feeling clear down to your toes, then you need to go back and reread it because you missed something.
