About this ebook

The New York Times bestselling story of a friendship frozen between life and death

Lia and Cassie are best friends, wintergirls frozen in fragile bodies, competitors in a deadly contest to see who can be the thinnest. But then Cassie suffers the ultimate loss—her life—and Lia is left behind, haunted by her friend's memory and racked with guilt for not being able to help save her. In her most powerfully moving novel since Speak, award-winning author Laurie Halse Anderson explores Lia's struggle, her painful path to recovery, and her desperate attempts to hold on to the most important thing of all: hope.

Acutally her friend had Bulimia and lia had anorexia. But this book is really good I started off reading this book and finish it with in a week tops. This book is sad and its shows how lia was battling with ana, and how her friend was battling with mia. its this one part in the story that make me really think. So whoever wants to read this book or whoever is thinking about reading this book you should, it shows how serious anorexia and bulimia really is in my opinion it should be called "Dying to be thin":.

Although very dramatic at times and creepy...it leaves you clinging to your chair. I know many girls who have had an anorexic past or are right now...and I have to say that Laurie Halse Anderson does a great job and portraying Lia's character... Sometimes the book is a little predictable, but, altogether good.

Lia is a teenager suffering from anorexia. Schoolmates make fun of her constantly, and readers can easily see how devastating and awful bullying can affect someone.
