About this ebook

When a firefighter’s new boss turns out to be her former fiancé, a love meant to last is rekindled in this heartwarming romance.

Eight months after their broken engagement, Tessa Carpenter is reunited with the man she could never forget—in the same wildfire-fighting unit and now as her boss. With the mystery of why he ended their relationship still between them, Tessa's not looking forward to working under Sean Nash.

Sean promised to take care of his late friend's sister. That meant walking away, sparing Tessa from his guilt over the accident that killed her brother. But working beside Tessa reignites the embers of his memories, fanning them into love once more. Now Sean must decide: will he bolt again . . . or stay and fight for the woman of his dreams.

This is the second book in the Men of Wildfire series but it's a stand alone book. A couple characters from the first book make an appearance in this book and their story is eluded to so you know basically what happened to them and you will be caught up if you didn't read that book! In this book though, we are back with the "hot shots" - those amazing men and women who risk their lives fighting wildfires in rough terrain. I have lived in some of these areas and know how fantastic these people do their jobs! I enjoyed reading this story, even though it's fiction, because, the author still did her homework and provides a lot of facts on how hard the training is and the actual fire-fighting is! The two main characters, Tessa and Sean, have history. They were engaged but Sean broke it off when Tessa's brother was killed in a fire because Sean felt his death was his fault and he can't live with himself knowing that. Marrying Tessa would be too hard because he feels she would one day leave him if she knew all the facts so he doesn't even want to marry her in the first place! Tessa is totally confused by the break up but it's been 8 months and it's hard enough just being on the some fire crew with him. I can only imagine working that closely with your ex-fiance' ....yikes! Plus, he's your boss! Lots of good emotions and story lines going on this book, along with some great community service with teenagers! I recommend this book!
