Duel wins a baby in a card game and as they're camping when a woman rides into camp needing help. Jessie was beaten, branded and on the run after killing her husband. Duel and Jessie's story is packed with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense and will tug at your heart. I loved this book from start to finish and look forward to reading more from Linda Broday in the future. Knight On The Texas Plains is book 1 of the Texas Heroes Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
