About this ebook

Hallelujah Weiss, writer for the steamy sudser As the Planet Spins, gets a second chance at love when she flees to Italy to get over her recent divorce, courtesy of her cheating ex-husband’s credit card. A woman scorned, Hallelujah has sworn off men and is determined to reinvent herself. The new Hallelujah is eager to live life on the edge, more like Polly, a character she writes and idolizes. Lonely Berlin hedge fund manager Alexander Stone, a number cruncher who puts his faith in numerical data, still believes in destiny, despite the fact his fiancée just dumped him. Always a man with a plan, Alexander did not plan on Hallelujah. After a chance encounter on a flight to Rome, the unlikely pair faces danger when they team up to return to their rightful owner a stash of WW II vintage jewels. The hidden diamonds hold the key to an unsolved mystery and a promise of love.

Not your typical romance novel. Stumble Stones is the first book by Marilyn Baron I have read so I didn't know what to expect. What I found was a different type of romance novel that surprised me. This is a standalone book with a soft cliffhanger. I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. There is some sex, some violence, as well as descriptions of the horror in Nazi concentration camps. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. The author did a great job of explaining the present day setting and how Hallelujah and Alexander met. There are elements of the story reminded me of the old tv show Scarecrow and Mrs. King. This book is part romance, part suspense/thriller, and part historical. There are a lot of clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted. I look forward to reading more of her books. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

About the author

Marilyn Baron is a corporate public relations consultant in Atlanta. She's a PRO member of Romance Writers of America (RWA) and Georgia Romance Writers (GRW) and winner of the GRW 2009 Chapter Service Award and writing awards in single title, suspense and paranormal romance. A former GRW board member and past editor of the chapter's online newsletter, The Galley, she handles Publicity for the 2013 Moonlight & Magnolias Conference. She also belongs to Marketing for Romance Writers. She writes humorous women's fiction (The Edger), romantic suspense and paranormal (A Choir of Angels; Follow an Angel; The Stand-in Bridegroom and Dead Mix) and humorous short stories (Murder at the Outlet Mall). She is a contributor to the sweet romance anthology Seasons and Seashells. She graduated from The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism (Public Relations sequence) and a minor in Creative Writing. Born in Miami, Florida, Marilyn lives in Roswell, Georgia, with her husband and they have two daughters. What's unique about my writing? I try to inject humor into everything I write. I like to laugh and my readers do too. I tend to feature older heroines, because let's face it, we're not getting any younger. I love to travel. My favorite place to visit is Italy because I studied in Florence for six months in my junior year of college. I love Bermuda and I think readers will love "visiting" this romantic and exotic destination getaway in my new novel from The Wild Rose Press, UNDER THE MOON GATE, and the sequel DESTINY: A BERMUDA LOVE STORY and find it as charming and inviting as I do. I'm looking forward to my next release with The Wild Rose Press, SIXTH SENSE, a romantic suspense with paranormal elements.
