About this ebook

Melissa Marr, New York Times bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely series, returns to the ethereal and bloodthirsty world of faery in this dramatic story of the precarious space between two worlds—and the people who must thrive there.

Lilywhite Abernathy is a criminal—she's half human, half fae, and since the time before she was born her very blood has been illegal. A war has been raging between humans and faeries, and the Queen of Blood and Rage, ruler of the fae courts, wants to avenge the tragic death of her heir due to the actions of reckless humans.

Lily's father has always shielded her from the truth, but when she's sent to the prestigious St. Columba's school, she's delivered straight into the arms of a fae Sleeper cell—the Black Diamonds.

The Diamonds are planted in the human world as the sons and daughters of the most influential families, and tasked with destroying it from within. Against her will, Lilywhite's been chosen to join them . . . and even the romantic attention of the fae rock singer Creed Morrison isn't enough to keep Lily from wanting to run back to the familiar world she knows.

Don’t miss the lush, gripping follow-up, One Blood Ruby!

I loved Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely Series, so when I saw she had a new faery duology coming out; I had to read it. I was not disappointed. Melissa Marr’s Seven Black Diamonds is an imaginative and exciting story that held me captivated. The ruler of the Fae courts, The Queen of Blood and Rage, sought revenge against the humans after they killed her daughter. The Queens secret weapon is a Fae sleeper cell called Black Diamonds, a group of human/Fae hybrids. This is a contemporary young adult fantasy that is told from multiple viewpoints. Melissa Marr does an incredible job with the characters. They are extremely diverse and fascinating. I thought it was interesting that the sleepers are famous and frequently in the human media. The Black Diamonds consist of seven half-human, half-Fae: Lilywhite Abernathy (daughter of crime boss), Creed Morrison (rock star), Zephyr Waters (actor), Alkamy Adams (rock diva), Violet Lamb (actress), Roan Kenrick (heir to Reliance Pharmaceuticals), and Will Parrish (son of a senator). The group is like a family. They look out for one another. Except for Lily, they all fear the Queen’s wrath. They each have various affinities/powers. There are a lot of characters in this story. Melissa Marr does a great job of developing everyone without confusing the reader. I love Lily’s Abernathy Commandments. I enjoyed the chemistry between Lily and Creed. The plot was original and well executed. There were numerous twists filled with mystery and suspense. I adored Seven Black Diamonds and cannot wait for the second book.
