Having read the previous six books I was deeply disappointed in this latest novel. I like to be thrilled and entertained when reading a mystery thriller. I will not give away the plot and consequences for the main characters. However it was too graphic and disturbing as an entertaining read. If I want to look into mass shootings and the devastating effects for all involved then I would read a true crime investigative piece or watch a documentary.

Have loved all the other Matilda Darke books, was excited for this to come out. It is awful. Not like the other books at all. Hopefully it's not a series ender, cause it's horrible. I honestly don't think I'll finish it. On a side note, it seems to have a different tone/voice than the other books. I'm wondering if it's even the same writer (or done by a ghost writer).

Absolutely fantastic. Heartbreaking and scary the whole way through. I actually forgot to breathe in parts and had to stop reading at times because I was sobbing. Tip to series readers... make sure you have tissues handy, you will need them. What a book! Wow!
