Four and a half stars Cinderella and the Brooding Billionaires by Michelle Douglas is a deliciously indulgent read, with a swoony hero and a fiercely lovely heroine. Luca Vieri and Monique Thomas have very little in common at first glance. He’s a wildly wealthy Italian business owner, working furiously to helm his grandfather’s legacy and return his family’s name to one associated with honor and decency. He’s just learned he has a son, and Monique is Benito’s godmother. Monique is juggling multiple jobs and struggling to keep her niece in a stable environment despite her sister and mother’s intent to party like it’s going out of style. She adores Fern and Benny and cares for them as if they were hers. Michelle Douglas writes a fairytale-esque story with a dreamy Italian hero and a heroine unafraid to graciously speak her mind, one you’d be thrilled to consider a friend. As these two dance around their mutual attraction and fight to keep their hands to themselves, we fall in love with them as deeply as they fall for each other. Luca and Monique sweep us away on a tidal wave of passion and the promise of everything love can bring. Can’t wait to read more of Ms Douglas’s writing!
